对无限随机二进制序列（几乎肯定来自持续翻转公平硬币的结果）的充分定义已致大量思考。该问题的第一次数学探索归功于 R. Von Mises，其基于"选择函数"的概念。对 Von Mises 思路的决定性质疑由 Jean Ville 在 1939 年提出的定理表明：一些序列被 Von Mises 接受为"随机"的序列实际上表现出某种系统性。Ville 的证明具有挑战性，仅有一种以浓缩形式出现的替代方法。我们尝试提供后者 alternative argument 的扩展版本。
