重复快速射电暴源表现出的多样化偏振角摆动

摘要

快速射电暴(FRBs)是起源未知的毫秒级射电暂现源。可能产生极高度相干FRB辐射的两种机制分别涉及中子星磁层或远离中心能源的相对论性激波。详细的偏振观测有助于我们理解辐射机制。然而,已有的FRB偏振数据令人困惑,因为它们展现出一系列偏振特性,包括某些重复暴在每次爆发中偏振角恒定,或另一些看似一次性事件中偏振角可变。本文报道了对FRB 180301的15次爆发的观测,并在其中7次中发现了多种偏振角摆动。这些爆发偏振角特征的多样性与射电辐射的磁层起源一致,而不支持涉及相对论性激波的辐射模型。
