利用VERA测定大犬座VY的距离

摘要

我们报告了利用VLBI射电天体测量探测项目(VERA)对红超巨星大犬座VY(VY CMa)周围H2O脉泽的天体测量观测结果。基于13个月的天体测量监测,我们成功测量了0.88 ± 0.08 mas的三角视差,对应距离为1.14 +0.11/-0.09 kpc。这是大犬座VY最精确的距离,也是首次基于周年视差测量的结果。由于先前公认的距离,大犬座VY的光度被高估了。利用我们的结果,我们使用在光学和红外波段上积分的辐射通量,重新估算大犬座VY的光度为(3 ± 0.5) × 10^5 L_sun。这一改进的光度值使得大犬座VY在赫罗图(HR图)上的位置比以往更接近理论允许区域(即林轨迹左侧),尽管恒星表面有效温度的不确定性仍不允许我们做出最终结论。
