这是一篇中等篇幅的半教学性综述，关于具有(破缺)扩展超对称的量子场论中低能有效预势的精确确定及其所起作用，该主题始于Seiberg和Witten于1994年的工作。在关注该主题逾二十年的整体图景的同时，我们探究了其发展三个主要阶段中标记的若干角落，强调伴随黎曼面上的形变理论的应用及其与矩阵模型的密切关系。此处在不同背景下选取的例子告诉我们，有效预势应被辨识为矩阵模型的恰当定义的自由能： 。本文将作为邀请综述文章投稿至PTEP，并部分基于作者之一(H.I.)于2014年12月5日在日本静冈县静冈大学举办的研讨会上的报告。
