摘要
我们介绍了当前美国通过“束流”法和“瓶”法测量自由中子寿命的实验进展。大爆炸核合成 (BBN) 模型要求测量不确定度达到 1 秒，这在目前是可行的。为了检验标准模型之外的物理，未来的努力需要将不确定度降低到远低于 1 秒的水平。我们概述了实现这两项目标的路径。
