用硅微条与纯 CsI 探测器探测反氢湮灭

摘要
2002 年,ATHENA 合作组报道了冷(~15 K)反氢原子的产生与探测[1]。该观测基于对反氢湮灭的完整重建,即反质子与正电子的 Simultaneous and spatially correlated annihilations(同时且空间关联的湮灭)。湮灭产物由一个柱对称探测系统测量,该系统由两层双面硅微条模块组成,其外围排布着 16 行、每行 12 块纯 CsI 晶体(13 x 17.5 x 17 mm^3)。本文简要概述该实验、探测器系统及事件重建。参考文献 1. M. Amoretti et al., Nature 419, 456 (2002)。
