XENON100 100个有效天数数据的暗物质结果

摘要

我们展示了利用XENON100探测器直接搜寻暗物质的结果,该探测器安装于意大利INFN格兰萨索国家实验室地下。XENON100是一个两相时间投影室,包含62千克液氙靶。三维相互作用顶点重建精度达到毫米级,允许仅选择最内层的48千克作为超低本底基准靶。在2010年1月至6月期间获取的100.9个有效天数数据中,未发现暗物质证据。在预先定义的信号区域内观测到三个候选事件,预期本底为1.8 +/- 0.6个事件。这给出了当今对暗物质相互作用最严格的限制,在90%置信度下,对于质量为50 GeV/c^2的WIMP,排除了自旋无关弹性WIMP-核子散射截面高于7.0x10^-45 cm^2的区域。
