早型盘状星系外环中的当前恒星形成

摘要
利用基于 S4G 巡测数据的星系恒星环图集 ARRakis（Comeron 等 2014），我们编制了一份具有外恒星环状特征（“纯”环 R 或伪环 R'）的早型 S0-Sb 盘状星系列表。通过紫外空间望远镜 GALEX 提供的星系 NUV 图像，在这些特征内搜寻了当前恒星形成的迹象。我们发现，当前恒星形成（年轻恒星群体的平均年龄小于 200 Myr）存在于约一半的“纯”环中；而在伪环中则几乎总能观测到。
