摘要

准确测量cosmogenic乘子诱导中性子产率对于约束广泛范围内的低能量物理搜索中的重要背景至关重要。尽管先前的地下实验在各种cosmogenic乘子能量下测量了此产率,但SNO+因暴露于平均cosmogenic乘子能量达到364GeV364\,\text{GeV}的地下环境而独特。我们使用 ultra-纯水,确定了SNO+的中性子产率为Yn=(3.380.30+0.23)×104cm2g1μ1Y_{n}=(3.38^{+0.23}_{-0.30})\times10^{-4}\,\text{cm}^{2}\text{g}^{-1}\mu^{-1}。与模拟比较显示,结果与FLUKA中性子生产模型明确吻合,突出了与广泛使用的GEANT4模型之间的差异。此外,此测量显示出比使用相同乘子通量条件下的SNO实验(使用重水)所观察到的更低的cosmogenic中性子产率。这一结果提供了新的证据表明,核结构和靶材组成对由cosmogenic乘子产生的中性子有显著影响,为未来地下实验的设计和背景建模提供了重要启示。
