GlueX实验桶部电磁量能器的建造与性能

摘要

桶部量能器是杰斐逊实验室D厅为GlueX实验安装的新谱仪的一部分。该量能器于2013年安装,2014年调试,自2015年初起常规运行。本文描述了探测器的构型、相关的蒙特卡洛模拟、校准及运行性能。量能器记录由多GeV光子束产生的带电与中性粒子沉积的时间和能量。它采用铅与闪烁光纤量能器构造,由3840个大面积硅光电倍增器阵列读出。粒子以广角范围入射探测器,从90度法向入射到11.5度,这定义了在量能器中相当独特的几何结构。量能器的响应已在运行实验中测得,对低于2.5 GeV的电磁簇射表现符合预期。我们利用π^0和η产生在典型角分布上积分的能量分辨率σ_E/E=5.2%/√E(GeV)⊕3.6%以及1 GeV下150 ps的时间分辨率σ来表征BCAL的性能。
