数字强子量能器(DHCAL)电子学系统的设计、建造与测试

摘要
一种新型强子量能器正在开发用于未来的轻子对撞束探测器。该量能器针对粒子流算法(PFAs)在强子喷注测量中的应用进行了优化,并具有 1 x 1 cm2 单元非常精细分割的读出。量能器的有源介质是电阻板室(RPCs),具有数字即单比特读出。在一级近似下,该量能器中入射粒子的能量被重建为与超过给定阈值的像素板数量成正比。一个具有约 500,000 读出通道的大规模原型量能器已建造完成,并在费米实验室和 CERN 测试束流中进行了广泛测试。本文报道该原型量能器电子读出系统的设计、建造和调试。该系统基于 DCAL 前端芯片和基于 VME 的后端。
