CMS RPC 本底——研究与测量

摘要

利用 CMS FLUKA 对探测器与洞室的模拟,通过 MC 预测研究了 CMS RPC 系统中预期的辐射本底。分析中使用的 MC 几何精确描述了当前 RPC 系统,但仍未包含赝 rapidity 1.9<η<2.41.9 < \lvert \eta \rvert < 2.4 的 RPC 升级区的完整描述。一旦最终几何描述可用,现有结果将随之更新。已从预期粒子率、吸收剂量与注量方面研究了辐射本底。考察了两种高亮度 LHC(HL-LHC)情景——在收集 3000300040004000 fb1^{-1} 之后。同时也考虑了安全因子为 3 的估计。
