结合SCUSS与SDSS观测的类星体选择能力

摘要
南银冠u波段天区巡天(SCUSS)在南银冠提供了约5000 deg的深u波段成像,比SDSS u波段深约1.5 mag。本文基于深SCUSS u波段成像和两历元u波段变率,评估利用SCUSS与SDSS数据选择类星体的能力。我们发现,与仅使用SDSS 数据相比,SCUSS u波段与SDSS 波段的组合能够选出更多暗弱类星体以及红移在2.2附近的类星体。类星体具有显著的u波段变率。具有大两历元变率的类星体比例远高于恒星。基于变率的选择既能选出具有紫外超的低红移类星体,也能选出中红移()类星体,而光学颜色选源在此红移区间效率低下。上述两种选择方法互补,充分利用了SCUSS u波段的优势。
