摘要
在 2001 年发表的一篇里程碑论文中，Leo Breiman 描述了数据建模的两种文化之间的紧张对峙：参数统计与算法机器学习。近年来，这两种统计学习框架之间的文化分裂正在稳步加剧。前进之路何在？显而易见的是，除非我们找到将二者融合为一个连贯整体的方法，否则“两种文化”之间这一不断扩大的鸿沟无法避免。本文通过在这两种文化之间建立联系给出了一种解决方案。我们通过实例描述了这种新型集成统计思维面临的挑战与潜在收益。
