在 ELPA-AEO 与 ESSEX-II 特征值求解器项目中利用混合精度计算的益处

摘要

我们首先简要报告 ELPA-AEO(千万亿次应用特征值求解器——算法扩展与优化)和 ESSEX II(装备稀疏求解器面向百亿亿次)项目的现状与近期成果。在这两项协作努力中,来自应用领域的科学家、数学家和计算机科学家共同工作,开发并提供用于求解特征值问题的高效高度并行方法。随后我们聚焦于两个项目均涉及的一个主题,即利用混合精度计算提升效率。我们较详细地描述了在三个选定背景下从较低或较高精度获益的方法,以及由此获得的结果。
