MINER 相干中微子散射反应堆实验的本底研究

摘要

拟建于 Texas A&M University 核科学中心的反应堆 Mitchell Institute 中微子实验(MINER)将使用低阈值、低温锗和硅探测器,在距 1 MW TRIGA 核反应堆堆芯极近处(约 2 米)寻找相干弹性中微子-核散射。鉴于该散射过程的标准模型截面以及拟议实验与反应堆的近距离,预计每天每千克可达 5 至 20 个事件。我们讨论了旨在表征拟议实验主要本底的初步测量现状。描述了在实验现场进行的原位测量以及使用 MCNP 和 GEANT4 代码进行的模拟。简要讨论了数据采集期间监测本底的策略。
