摘要
本白皮书讨论了阿雷西博天文台未来十年的设施改进与活动计划。设施改进包括:(a) 改善望远镜表面、指向与聚焦,以在高达约 12.5 GHz 频段实现卓越性能;(b) 为望远镜配备超宽带馈源;(c) 以 4 GHz 带宽高动态范围数字链路和通用后端升级仪器;(d) 通过集成 12m 望远镜进行相位参考来增强 VLBI 设施。这些对阿雷西博望远镜的升级对于使国家设施保持射电天文研究前沿地位,同时维持其在近地小行星、行星和卫星雷达研究中的主导地位至关重要。未来十年,阿雷西博望远镜将与 ngVLA、SKA 及已建成的 FAST 望远镜等即将到来的设施发挥协同作用。此外,天文台将积极参与面向多元背景学生的指导与培训项目。
