CAST 实验对轴子-光子耦合的改进上限

摘要
我们使用改进条件下的 CERN 中轴子太阳望远镜 (CAST) setup 搜索太阳轴子或类似粒子，这些粒子与两个光子耦合。通过观察当 magnet 指向太阳时未出现的多余 X 射线，我们给出轴子-光子耦合的上限为 8.8 × 10⁻¹¹ GeV⁻¹（以 95% 置信水平），适用于 m_a ≲ 0.02 eV。该结果是该范围内最佳实验上限，并且对于 m_a ≲ 0.02 eV 也超过了来自全球星云能量损失论证所得的以前上限。
