Advanced ACTPol 是 6 米口径阿塔卡马宇宙学望远镜(Atacama Cosmology Telescope, ACT)的偏振敏感升级项目,相较于先前的 ACTPol 接收机增加了新频段并提高了灵敏度。2016 年,Advanced ACTPol 将开始以五个频段(28–230 GHz)绘制约半天球的地图。其对原初与次级宇宙微波背景(CMB)各向异性的图——以强度与偏振在角分尺度分辨率下成像——将实现精确宇宙学约束,并支持广泛的交叉相关研究,以探测宇宙膨胀历史及引力坍缩导致的结构增长。为实现这些科学目标,Advanced ACTPol 接收机将对 ACTPol 接收机进行重大升级,包括四块新的多色低温、馈源喇叭耦合 AlMn 过渡边缘传感器(TES)偏振计阵列(制备于 150 mm 直径晶圆上);一套连续旋转的超材料硅半波片系统;以及一种采用超导量子干涉器件(SQUIDs)和时分复用实现 64 行复用因子的新型复用读出架构。本文介绍 Advanced ACTPol 仪器的现状与科学目标,重点阐述 Advanced ACTPol 低温探测器阵列的设计与实现。
