一种简单的放射性核素驱动单离子源

摘要

我们描述了一种能够通过放射性衰变中的核反冲产生单个钡离子的源。该源通过将148Gd电镀到硅α粒子探测器上,并在其上蒸镀一层BaF2来制备。来自148Gd α衰变的144Sm反冲核用于从BaF2层中撞出Ba+离子,并将其发射到周围环境中。同时探测衬底探测器中的α粒子可以标记核衰变和Ba+的发射。该源简单、耐用,并且可以在不同环境中操作和使用。我们讨论了制备过程(该过程可以很容易地适用于发射大多数其他化学物种)以及该源的性能。
