中子电偶极矩的修订实验上限

摘要
我们首次对设定当前中子电偶极矩(EDM)大小世界灵敏度极限的实验结果进行了详细而全面的分析。我们扩展并增强了之前的分析,纳入了对重力在去极化超冷中子(UCN)中效应理解的最新进展;改进了中子能谱的计算;并对其他可能的系统误差进行了保守估计,这些估计也被证明与使用该装置进行的更近期测量一致。我们得到的净结果为 cm,这可以解释为EDM大小的略微修订上限: cm (90% CL) 或 cm (95% CL)。本文由其余作者献给J. Michael Pendlebury教授以志纪念。
