在突破聆听观测中探测到的具有频率依赖偏振的快速射电暴

摘要

在此,我们报告在2018年3月1日UTC期间,利用帕克斯望远镜进行突破聆听(Breakthrough Listen)观测时,对快速射电暴FRB 180301的探测与验证。该探测捕获了全偏振电压数据——这是非重复FRB的首次——从而允许相干去色散和额外的验证测试。FRB 180301的相干去色散动态频谱在较小的相对带宽上显示出复杂的、偏振的频率结构。由于FRB 180301是在已知的1-2 GHz卫星传输时段内于地球同步卫星频带附近被探测到的,我们考虑该暴是否由从轨道物体发射或反射的无线电干扰引起。基于我们大量验证测试的结果,我们发现FRB 180301很可能起源于天体物理过程,但提醒不能确凿地排除人为来源。
