摘要
低温暗物质实验CRESST-II旨在通过闪烁CaWO晶体中原子核的弹性散射直接探测WIMP。我们介绍了一种新的、大幅改进的探测器设计,已安装在当前运行的CRESST-II第二阶段中,具有高效的主动表面α本底抑制。使用CaWO棒代替金属夹来固定目标晶体,实现了具有全闪烁内表面的探测器外壳。所展示的探测器(TUM40)提供了极佳的能量阈值keV和能量分辨率 keV(在2.60keV处)。由于本底水平显著降低,TUM40对自旋无关的WIMP-核子散射截面设置了严格的限制,并探测了WIMP质量低于3GeV/c的新参数空间区域。本文详细讨论了新型探测器设计和表面α事件抑制。
