摘要
本文研究了联合信源 - 信道编码的随机编码指数，该方案中信源消息被分配到不相交的子集（称为类），且码字根据依赖于信源消息类索引的分布独立生成。对于离散无记忆系统，研究发现两个最优选择的类和乘积分布足以在球包络指数（sphere-packing exponent）紧致的那些情况下达到该指数。
