我们两人在日本度过了一年的学术休假，与几位日本同行全职合作，加上远在 Livermore 的 Tony De Groot 和维也纳的 Harald Posch。我们总结了那个多产之年（1989-1990）的一些亮点，随后是在 Livermore 的额外十五年工作与频繁旅行。接下来是2005年在内华达州的退休，这变成了一段长期的工作假期。Carol 讲述了我们这段共同历史。
