X 射线是探测活跃星系核物理条件的强大工具。我们综述了基于罗萨特卫星观测的射电安静 AGN、LINER 和超亮红外星系的 X 射线特性。随后总结了来自非活跃星系中巨型 X 射线闪烁的观测,这些闪烁被解释为由超大质量黑洞引发的星体引力破坏。
