来自黑洞的X射线偏振:GEMS科学白皮书

摘要

我们在此概述引力与极端磁力SMEX(GEMS)X射线偏振测量任务黑洞(BH)观测计划背后的科学目标。主要目标可分为两类:吸积双星中的恒星质量级银河系黑洞,以及活动星系核(AGN)中心的超大质量黑洞。恒星质量级黑洞又可进一步分为各种X射线光谱态:热主导态(盘)、硬态(射电喷流)和陡幂律态(热冕)。这些不同的光谱态被认为是由不同的吸积几何结构和发射机制产生的。X射线偏振是探测这些黑洞周围几何结构并揭示吸积气体具体特性的理想工具。
