热场论究竟在计算什么？

摘要
本文简要回顾了热场论。我们注意到，直到最近，人们尚不清楚欧几里得方法中计算的实时间格林函数究竟是何种类型。随后给出了该问题的形式化答案，并讨论了这一出乎意料地复杂的答案。最后考虑了这些结果的物理意义。（本文为1994年2月20日至26日在加拿大路易斯湖举行的粒子物理与宇宙学冬季研究所上的报告。）
