从表面价值来看，当前的实验数据表明存在一种新粒子——惰性中微子，它必须是标准模型规范群下的单态。尽管这类粒子无法通过传统手段探测，但它们对粒子天体物理学和宇宙学具有有趣的可观测后果。在此，我们审视这些影响，并特别讨论惰性中微子暗物质以及物质增强的有源-惰性中微子转变与超新星中重元素合成之间的关系。
