结合 157 颗脉冲器的位移测度、距离和辐射测度，这些脉冲器位于 |b| > 5 度且 60 度 < l < 360 度之间，我们找到了银河系中扩散离子化气体的平均体积填充因子（f_v）。该填充因子与云中平均电子密度（n_c）成反比，f_v = (0.0184 +/- 0.0014) n_c^{-1.07 +/- 0.03}，这表明在太阳 3 kpc 范围内电子密度分布几乎是恒定的。
