BL Lac 天体 1ES 0229+200 是一个已确证的甚高能（VHE; E >100 GeV）源。该源位于红移 0.1396 处，其已发表的 VHE 能谱特别硬（Gamma ~2.5），被广泛用于河外背景光（EBL）和星系际磁场（IGMF）的研究。我们在此呈现利用 VERITAS 对 1ES 0229+200 进行的长期观测活动结果，该活动持续时间为 2009 年至 2012 年，并得到了多波段观测的支持。我们讨论了 VERITAS 的结果，特别强调其对源辐射的同步自康普顿建模的含义，以及基于其 VHE 能谱的理论研究（尤其是关于星系际磁场的研究）的含义。
