VERITAS 对伽马射线双星 LS I +61 303 的观测

摘要
LS I +61 303 是目前仅在甚高能伽马射线波段以高显著性被探测到的少数大质量 X 射线双星之一。该系统于 2006 年 9 月至 2007 年 2 月期间,利用 VERITAS 成像空气切伦科夫望远镜阵列在数个轨道周期内进行了观测。探测到能量高于 300 GeV 的伽马射线信号,统计显著性为 8.4 个标准差。测得的通量变化剧烈;在大多数轨道周期中,最大通量出现在远星点。最大辐射期间的能谱可由幂律描述,光子指数为 Gamma=2.40+-0.16_stat+-0.2_sys,高于 300 GeV 的通量相当于蟹状星云通量的 15-20%。
