基于VERITAS切伦科夫望远镜五年耀变体观测的上限

摘要

在 VERITAS 切伦科夫望远镜阵列 2007 年全面科学运行开始至 2012 年期间,其观测了超过 130 个耀变体;其中 26 个被探测为甚高能 (VHE; E>100 GeV) {\gamma}-射线源。本工作中,我们呈现了 114 个未探测到天体的样本的分析结果。这些观测构成总计约 570 小时的有效时间。该样本包含若干未证认的费米-大面积望远镜 (LAT) 源(位于高银纬)以及费米-LAT 第二目录中全部位于 VERITAS 观测视场内的源。我们还进行了光学光谱测量,以估算其中一些没有光谱距离估计的耀变体的红移。我们呈现了来自利克天文台谢恩望远镜上 Kast 仪器的 18 个纳入本工作的耀变体的新光学光谱,这使得其中 4 个的红移得以成功测量或限制。对于我们样本中的每个耀变体,我们提供了 VERITAS 能段中的流量上限。我们还研究了显著性分布的性质,并呈现了该数据集堆叠分析的结果,显示有 4 {\sigma} 超出。
