α-硼 (111) 表面的意外重构

摘要
我们报道了一种利用从头算演化结构搜索发现的α-硼 (111) 表面的新型重构，并揭示其具有意想不到的整洁结构，且表面能远低于最近提出的 (111)-I_R,(a) 表面。对于这种重构，每个间隙硼原子都与相邻 B_12 二十面体之间独特的极性共价键形成桥接，这完美符合电子计数规则，并导致了重构诱导的金属 - 半导体转变。间隙原子与二十面体之间奇特的电荷转移在稳定表面方面起着重要作用。
