金属间化合物YbGaGe中可调谐的热膨胀行为

我们研究了碳和硼掺杂对六方(P63/mmc)金属间化合物YbGaGe热膨胀的影响。使用X射线粉末衍射测量了纯样品和掺杂(名义水平为0.5%的C或B)样品在T~10 K至T~300 K范围内的晶格常数。还测量了电阻率、比热容和磁化率。纯YbGaGe样品表现出正的热体积膨胀,(V300K-V10K)/V300K = 0.94%,而轻掺杂C和B的样品的体积膨胀收缩并趋于零体积膨胀。如此轻的掺杂产生如此强烈的响应,表明所报道的零体积膨胀的潜在机制是替代无序,而非先前提出的价态涨落。
