我们总结了目前在3 mm (86 GHz)、2 mm (129-150 GHz)和1.3 mm (215-230 GHz)波段的VLBI实验现状。我们呈现并讨论了一幅新的M87 (Virgo A) 3 mm VLBI图,其空分辨率仅约为20个Schwarzschild半径。我们讨论了SgrA*的最新VLBI结果,并倾向于在扩展的欧洲毫米VLBI网络中进行新的观测,以寻找变动性。我们讨论了在波长<2mm时成像超大质量黑洞事件视界的可能性,并指出,添加大型灵敏毫米望远镜如CARMA、SMA、LMT和ALMA对于实现这一目标至关重要。
