TOI-503:TESS任务发现的首个已知褐矮星-Am星双星系统

我们报告了从TESS任务中发现的一个中等质量凌星褐矮星TOI-503b。TOI-503b是TESS发现的首个褐矮星,它围绕一颗金属线A型星运行,周期为P=3.6772±0.0001P=3.6772 \pm 0.0001天。TESS的光变曲线表明TOI-503b以掠食方式凌星其宿主恒星,这限制了我们对褐矮星半径测量的精度(Rb=1.340.15+0.26RJR_b = 1.34^{+0.26}_{-0.15} R_J)。我们使用FIES、Ondřejov、PARAS、Tautenburg和TRES光谱仪获得了高分辨率光谱观测,并测得TOI-503b的质量为Mb=53.7±1.2MJM_b = 53.7 \pm 1.2 M_J。宿主恒星的质量为M=1.80±0.06MM_\star = 1.80 \pm 0.06 M_\odot,半径为R=1.70±0.05RR_\star = 1.70 \pm 0.05 R_\odot,有效温度为Teff=7650±160T_{\rm eff} = 7650 \pm 160K,并且具有相对较高的金属丰度0.61±0.070.61\pm 0.07 dex。我们使用恒星等时线推导出该系统的年龄约为180 Myr,这使其年龄介于RIK 72b(一个约10 Myr老的褐矮星,位于天蝎座上部星协)和AD 3116b(一个约600 Myr老的褐矮星,位于鬼星团)之间。基于该系统的年轻年龄以及该褐矮星围绕其宿主恒星的圆化时间长尺度,我们认为这颗褐矮星是原位形成的。TOI-503b加入了已知的围绕主序星运行的短周期、中等质量褐矮星日益增长的群体,并且是继HATS-70b之后第二颗已知凌星A星的此类褐矮星。随着该区域群体的增长,褐矮星沙漠中最干燥的区域(3555MJsini35-55 M_J \sin{i})正在重新变得茂密,其质量范围正在缩小。
