VIMOS公共河外星系红移巡天(VIPERS):论单元计数概率分布函数的正确恢复

摘要

我们比较了在光谱红移巡天中测量星系单元计数概率密度函数的三种方法。从该比较中发现,当采样率低时(每个单元的平均天体数约为1),有必要使用参数化方法对星系分布建模。我们使用了一组VIPERS的模拟目录,以验证在应用观测策略后是否能够重建单元计数概率分布。我们发现,在模拟目录中,星系的概率分布用Gamma展开比偏斜对数正态(Skewed Log-Normal)表示更好。最后,我们校正了由VIMOS仪器的角度选择效应引起的单元计数概率分布函数,并研究了VIPERS中潜在星系密度函数的红移和绝对星等依赖性(红移从0.50.51.11.1)。我们发现概率密度分布函数的演化非常微弱,并且无论选择何种示踪物,它都能很好地用Gamma分布近似。
