从恒星掩星观测看Chariklo环的结构

在2013年6月3日观测到的一次恒星掩星过程中,在半人马天体(10199) Chariklo周围发现了两条狭窄而密集的环(称为C1R和C2R)。在此发现之后,我们计划观测Chariklo系统的多次掩星,以更好地表征环和主天体的物理性质。本文使用了2014年至2016年间观测到的12次成功的Chariklo掩星。它们提供了环的轮廓(物理宽度、不透明度、边缘结构)以及对半径和极点位置的约束。我们的新观测目前与Braga-Ribas等人推导出的环半径±3.3 km的形式不确定度范围内的圆形环解和极点位置一致。六个分辨出的C1R轮廓显示出从约5 km到7.5 km的显著宽度变化。较暗的C2R环的宽度约束较少,可能在0.1 km到1 km之间变化。C1R的内边缘和外边缘与无限尖锐的边界一致,环与空空间之间过渡区的典型上限为1 km。目前尚无对C2R边缘尖锐度的约束。对于在环平面内计数、距离达12,000 km的狭窄(物理宽度<4 km)环的等效宽度,推导出了约20 m的1σ\sigma上限。
