摘要
我们从历史视角回顾了物理学中导致统一思想与理论出现的发展。我们特别关注了始于20世纪第二个十年的理论纲领，其目标是实现引力与电磁学的统一描述。这些尝试在概念上可被视为与当代旨在统一自然界所有相互作用的“万有理论”类似。
