我们分析了在标准模型及含有新物理模型中χ的取值范围，指出χ值若达到相当大的尺度（如阶梯参数λ的同阶），仅在通过引入额外Q=2/3夸克而违反3×3卡布-考贝希-马克拉维矩阵单位性时才可能。我们研究了额外夸克为等位态的情况，确定χ的允许范围及大χ对各种低能可观测量的影响，如B介子衰变中的CP非对称性。我们还讨论了在高能碰撞中可观测的相关效应，如t→cZ衰变、e+e-→tt̄横向偏振及直接产生新夸克的截面修正。
