摘要

西蒙斯天文台(SO)大口径望远镜接收机(LATR)将与位于智利 Cerro Toco 海拔 5,200 m 处的大口径望远镜耦合。由此构成的仪器将以空前精度产生半天球的角分分辨率毫米波图。LATR 是迄今建造的最大低温毫米波相机,直径 2.4 m,长 2.6 m。它将 1200 kg 物质冷却至 4 K,200 kg 冷却至 100 mK,即辐射热探测器的工作温度,其频段中心分别约为 27、39、93、145、225 和 280 GHz。最终,LATR 将容纳 13 个直径 40 cm 的光学管,每个含三片探测器晶圆,总计 62,000 个探测器。LATR 设计必须同时维持系统的光学对准、控制杂散光、提供低温隔离、限制热梯度,并最小化系统从室温冷却至 100 mK 的时间。这些相互竞争因素间的相互作用带来了独特挑战。我们讨论了设计涉及的权衡研究、最终优化、建造以及系统的最终性能。
