SDSS-IV扩展重子振荡光谱巡天:亮红星系目标选择

我们描述了用于选择SDSS-IV扩展重子振荡光谱巡天(eBOSS)中亮红星系(LRG)样本的算法,该算法同时利用了SDSS和广域红外巡天探测器(WISE)的测光数据。LRG目标需满足一组颜色选择标准,且z波段和i波段的MODEL星等需分别满足z < 19.95和19.9 < i < 21.8。我们的算法每平方度选择约50个LRG目标,其中绝大多数位于红移范围0.6 < z < 1.0(中位红移0.71)。我们证明该方法能有效消除恒星污染和低红移星系。我们利用SDSS-III/BOSS的光谱数据进行了多项测试,以确定目标选择的红移可靠性及其满足eBOSS科学需求的能力。SDSS光谱的信噪比足够高,使得至少89%的目标样本能获得可靠的红移测量。我们还展示了样本均匀性和同质性的测试结果,证明该样本足够干净,可用于研究比SDSS-III/BOSS LRG所及更高红移处的宇宙大尺度结构。
