低 Z 材料中缪子的散射

摘要
本文介绍了 172 MeV/c 缪子在多种材料(包括液氢)中散射的测量,其动机源于理解用于缪子加速的电离冷却的需求。数据与 Geant 4 模拟代码的预言进行了比较,并利用该模拟来反卷积探测器效应。获得的散射分布与 Moliere 多重散射理论进行了比较,在液氢的情况下还与 ELMS 进行了比较。除 ELMS 外,发现没有模型能很好地描述数据。结果表明,电离冷却的效果将优于 Geant 4.7.0p01 的预言。
