Globular 星系中 RR Lyrae 周期- K 带光度关系：观察方法

摘要
推导了基于准确的近红外 (K) 光度测量以及 2MASS 和其他文献数据的，针对 15 个银河系星系球团和 Reticulum 星系球团中 RR Lyrae 星的 Period - metallicity - K 带光度 (PLK) 关系。该 PLK 关系已被校准并与文献中的以前经验和理论确定进行比较。通过 HST 的三角测距法测得的 RR Lyr 距离模的 K 亮度，用于获得绝对校准的零点。使用该关系，我们得到的到 LMC 的距离模为 (m-M)_0 = 18.54 ± 0.15 mag，与最近基于 Cepheid 变星分析的确定结果良好一致。
