全球星团与米拉周期亮度关系

基于希腊星联对亚星的星距测量，推导出了集群米拉星的 M_K 估计值，包括 SMC 全球星团 NGC121 中的一颗米拉星。这些结果与基于近距离野外米拉星希腊星联数据所得的米拉红外周期亮度关系 PL(K) 的零点一致。将这两个估计值的平均值结合巴黎亥姆霍兹星系(LMC) 米拉星数据，可得出 LMC 距离模为 18.60 ± 0.10，与经过金属酸度校正的 Cepheid 距离模(18.59 ± 0.10) 完全吻合。还讨论了以发光星系气体作为外星系人口指示器的应用。
