CubeSat 是能力日益增强的微型卫星。十多年来,大学一直使用它们通过动手项目来培训学生空间技术,该项目旨在建造、发射并运行一颗真实的卫星。即便在今天,CubeSat 的一个短板仍是向地面传输大量数据的能力较差。克服此限制的一种可能方式依赖于光通信。蔚蓝海岸大学(Universite Cote d'Azur)正在研究一种学生 CubeSat 的可行性,其主要目标是以 1 kb/s(或更高)的中等速率通过光链路向地面传输数据。本文将介绍该项目的当前状态及其未来发展。
