下一代深场河外探测公开(NGDEEP)巡天

摘要

我们介绍了下一代深场河外探测公开(NGDEEP)巡天,这是一个JWST第一轮 Treasury 深无缝光谱与成像巡天,旨在约束宇宙时标上低质量星系中的反馈机制。NGDEEP以哈勃超深场(HUDF)为目标,利用NIRISS无缝光谱(f~1.2e-18 erg/s/cm^2,5sigma)测量低质量星系在宇宙SFR密度峰值时期(0.5<z<4)的金属丰度与恒星形成率(SFR)。同时,NGDEEP以HUDF-Par2平行场为目标,利用NIRCam(m=30.6-30.9,5sigma)发现红移z>12的星系,约束静止紫外光度函数暗端斜率。NGDEEP与天空中最深的HST ACS光学成像重叠:HUDF中的F435W(m=29.6)与HUDF-Par2中的F814W(m=30),这使其成为首屈一指的HST+JWST深场。作为Treasury巡天,NGDEEP数据立即公开,我们将本着先前深场计划的宗旨快速释放数据产品和星表。本文中我们介绍NGDEEP巡天设计,总结科学目标,并详述NGDEEP归算数据产品公开释放的计划。
