邻近的大质量星暴核星系：形成中的年轻星系

摘要
我们讨论了近期发现的星暴核星系（SBNGs）的氧丰度低于相同形态类型的“正常星系”这一结果的意义。我们对这一结果的解释是，SBNGs是年轻的星系，仍处于形成过程中。我们考虑了几种替代方案，但均不能提供合理的解释。这一新结果对我们理解星系演化具有重要意义，因为它证实了星系分级形成的图景，并解释了哈勃太空望远镜近期的观测结果。
