最高能宇宙射线的聚类：物理还是统计？

摘要
由于源以随机方式分布在天空中，宇宙射线观测预期会出现纯粹统计波动导致的方向聚类。我们发展了一种解析方法来估计随机聚类配置的概率，并利用这些结果来研究HiRes、Auger、Telescope Array和EUSO/OWL/AirWatch设施在决定任何观察到的聚类是否最可能来自非随机源方面的强大潜力。
